Xero & Xero Practice Manager integration
Nagaris integrates with two Xero products: Xero Practice Manager (XPM) for your practice data, and Xero (Accounting) for invoicing and payments. This section explains how the integration works, how to connect it, and answers common questions.
Data flow
The diagram below shows what data moves between Nagaris and Xero, and in which direction. Solid arrows show automatic syncing; the dotted arrow shows files downloaded on demand.
Getting started
- 1Go to Settings → Integrations → Xero Practice Manager.
- 2Select Connect to Xero. You will be redirected to Xero to sign in and authorise access. Authentication uses OAuth 2.0 — Nagaris never sees your password.
- 3Choose which Xero Practice Manager organisation to link to your Nagaris firm.
- 4Optionally tick Import existing data to pull in your contacts, clients, client groups, jobs and timesheets.
- 5Set your sync direction with the Nagaris updates XPM and XPM updates Nagaris toggles, then map your XPM staff to Nagaris team members.

| Nagaris updates XPM | Pushes client, contact, client group and job changes from Nagaris out to XPM. |
| XPM updates Nagaris | Pulls changes made in XPM back into Nagaris on a regular schedule. |
| Service Income account | Default revenue account applied to invoice line items. |
| Clearing account | Holding account where payments collected by Nagaris are posted in Xero. |
| Processing fee accounts | Revenue and expense accounts used for payment surcharges and processing fees. |
| Settlement bank account | Bank account used to match payout settlement bank transactions in Xero. |
| Invoice branding theme | Xero branding theme applied to invoices Nagaris creates. |
